Below are some examples of the many painting trips I have made over the years. I use this painting technique for many reasons. Changing light calls for an immediate response. Its so much fun I began waking before dawn to set up for sunrise. I have had the pleasure of painting the province this way, good for me, bad for the garden. The first exhibition I curated was for senior artist, the late Iona Hind. She studied under Lemoine Fitzgerald and had traveled and painted the world with an old metal paint box. Retired, she gave it to me, urging me to take it out for a spin. It gave me opportunity to paint completely differently, bohemian, and even more importantly gave opportunity to explore and document the far reaches of this great province. Thank you Iona!
